Christmas time is coming again so why not get into the Christmas spirit and grow yourself a Santa beard? Growing a real Santa beard could take ages but you can have a fully digital 3D beard on your own face in seconds thanks to this fun little online application called Decembeard! It’s quick and easy to do and all you’ll need is a web cam and a printer.
My friends at Ideaworks put together this clever little augmented reality Flash application which actually allows you to position a Santa beard on your own face using a webcam and a marker which you can print out. Simply visit the Decembeard website and print out the beard marker. Hold the marker up in front of your face while looking at your webcam and you’ll see a Santa beard magically appear on your face. You can then click a button to take a photo of yourself with your new digital santa beard and send it to your friends or post it on your Facebook profile page.
Creating a Decembeard is also for a good cause as the guys at Ideaworks will donate $5 to charity for each Santa beard created. So get to it, I look forward to seeing your Santa beards!
