I’m sure that by now you have all seen the amazing Avatar movie and have at some stage considered packing your things and getting a one way ticket to Pandora to have the adventure of a lifetime. I know I have. But of course this may not be possible for all of us, so here’s the next best thing. Avatarize your face! You can actually create your own Avatar movie character in 3D and I’ll show you how.

In order to create yourself as an Avatar movie character you simply need to upload a passport style photo of yourself to www.avatarizeyourself.com and the guys from Oddcast will do the rest. The better your photo is, the better your Avatar character will turn out. You basically just need to make sure that in your photo you are looking directly forward and that you have no expression on your face. Also ensure that you are not wearing any hats or accessories as that will ruin your Avatar.

Once you have uploaded your photo you will then need to position it appropriately and then wait for the magic to happen. It takes around 30 seconds for your 3D Avatar to be grown and once it’s done you can add your own message to it, download it as an image or even share it with your friends.

Manga Avatar – Make your own avatar

Have you ever wondered how people made their own manga avatars? Well there is a great website called FaceYourManga.com that allows you to create your own custom avatar image and download it once you’re done.

These mangatars have become quite popular as they look great and are highly customisable. You can even vote for your favourite Mangatar from thousands of creative designs. You can see my avatar on the left.

It’s quite a simple process to create your avatar. Simply go to the website and click on the “Create” button. You will be able to customise many aspects of your face including your nose, eyes, mouth, ears and hair. You can even change the background of the image as well as your clothes. It’s quite a cool little website. Check out this tutorial if you are having trouble creating your manga avatar.
